Wholesome Foods to Lose Weight - Will a Plant Based Diet Work?

My experience chasing weight loss is probably not much different than most. I have worked at weight reduction and weight management for most of my adult life. I am now 60 years old. There was a time when I have tried all types of the newest and latest methods to loss weight fast, I've used pre-scripted diet, diet products, even eating habits therapy. I can usually make some progress and lose some weight, but I have always found that if I stayed with the program permanently, I would just go back to where I was, I found that most of these Diets and diet products, was not a good recipe for my health. I also love good food, likes to cook and I have become older, above all, I want to be as healthy as possible.

I strongly believe that good health and long term health management is rooted in nutrition and a balanced well chosen food group as well as a consistent exercise Regiment. Weight loss, weight management and large health go together. When I got this clearly embedded in my brain, I realized that the basis for this thinking was actually quite simple.

Eat real fresh food, mainly plants. I am not a vegetarian diet, I personally am not a vegetarian those when you're done practicing. I believe that a well thought out and practiced Vegetarian diet can be great for weight loss and good health.

When I say to eat really fresh food, it is so simple. Stay away from manufactured, highly processed food. If you have added a few thoughts as to why it is one of control obesity epidemic in the United States and you put two and two together, you realize it has its roots in two factors. Lack of real fresh foods and sedentary lifestyle. Little to no exercise.

Plant based diet is not only eating plants, fruits and vegetables. Includes fish, chicken and other meat to eat them, the key is moderation.
Eat at least a 80% plant-based diet. Most foods nuts, seeds, beans, sweet potatoes, etc., are all plant based foods.

Eat only fresh fruits and easy to cook your vegetables.

You need all the nutrition and enzymes, you can get from the plant based foods you eat. When you over Cook your vegetables, you lose a lot of diet, and eliminate the beneficial enzymes. Along with the easily cooked vegetables also eats some fruits and vegetables raw every day. Salads are great but also consider making a green drink. Here is a simple recipe that I make almost daily. Take a blender or better if you have it or can purchase one, a Vita mix or other high speed mixer. Place in a hand full of fresh Collard Greens, a small bundle of fresh Italian parsley, a sprig of celery, perhaps a small portion of cabbage, one or two cored apples, one or two cored pears and a wedge of lemon with Peel on the ... Put in more than one Apple and pear trees on how sweet you want it, you can also play with various fruits, sometimes I also put in berries, just like Blue berries. This Green drink taste is not as it may look, fruit mixed with vegetables gives it a little sweet pleasant taste. The idea is that you get a big shot of fresh, raw vegetables and fruit, with very low caloric content and nutritional tonnes and antioxidant content and fibre. This is a super healthy all fresh plants based weight loss drink.

To lose weight and get really healthy is really all about changing your food consciousness, eat a full diet. I believe that the food you eat doesn't have gone through all manufacturing or heavy treatment. Grain you eat is refined, Select brown rice rather than white rice, whole-grain pasta (just sometimes) chose sweet potatoes with common white potato russet type. The idea is two avoid foods immediately turn into sugar in your system.

When you eat meat or fish, eat small portions and avoid rich sauces, tonnes of butter and other milk products based condiments. Add flavor to all cooked food you eat, is using herbs, garlic, coconut oil or Virgin olive oil which also possibly grape seed oil is OK. Stay away from most other oils. Not over eating all dairy products, go to almond milk instead of cow milk, cheese and butter limit. Try yogurt instead of sour when cooking and stay clear of all refined sugar ...

Beware of food substances, as high corn fructose syrup, trans fats, hydrogenated oils, too much sugar, too much salt, lots of preservatives and other chemicals. These are the culprits that in most of the processed, refined and packaged foods on the average traditional market.
Find and join a co-op natural foods market, or some kind of natural food market. Go to a local outdoor market to sat. shop.

Attempt to change when you eat. Eat smaller meals more often and do not eat a meal after say 4 or 5 PM, if you want a snack after eating a piece of fruit. Take a walk after your last meal. Sitting on the couch after a large meal and then go to bed will put on weight and keep it.

This concept of being a nutrition and fresh food conscious eater is the very essence of losing weight and in excellent health. It can be a big change for many people and habits are the most difficult parts of our daily life to change. Take it one step at a time and stay focused, adds time in it, educate yourself, it is well worth it.
